Searching for Traits

How many of us have heard more than once “You look/act just like your mom/dad”  People look for you to resemble your parents. People watch for characteristics and personality traits that are similar to family members. Do you find yourself searching siblings or parents and children for traits or characteristics that resemble each other? I know I do!

But for someone {like me} when people notice similarities it’s a big deal! I love when people comment on how I look like my dad. Or when I’m told I sound like my mom. I love that I’ve “inherited” my Grandma’s touch with massage. (It just helps prove my theory of environment over genetics–total side note) It’s exciting to be known as a “Kurtz” (sometimes!)

It’s a big deal to me because {I’m adopted}

I’ve always loved the picture of being adopted into God’s family. It’s a relationship I can understand.

And I discovered something the other day. I love it when people see characteristics in me of my Heavenly Father. It’s a thrill when people know me as a Christian.

But do people know me as a God’s daughter? Do I resemble those traits that show God as my Father?
